Brooke Shields

Born and raised in New York, Brooke Shields began modeling at the age of 11 months. She became one of the most photographed faces in the world and has graced the cover of nearly every national and international magazine including Life and three separate covers of Time. An icon of American culture for nearly her entire life, she has established a phenomenal acting career that encompasses television, film and theatre.

Shields attended Princeton University, graduating with honors in French Literature. Among her many accomplishments, Shields has earned five People's Choice Awards for her work, including one for her role on Suddenly Susan, which also brought her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Shields has received critical acclaim for her work on Broadway, taking on leading roles in theater favorites such as Cabaret and Chicago. It was Brooke's breakout role as Rizzo in Grease that garnered her The Theatre Award for Best New Talent on Broadway, and her portrayal of Ruth Sherwood in Wonderful Town that inspired the creation of the new category of "Best Replacement Role" at The Tony Awards. She also enjoyed enormous success and critical acclaim throughout her adolescence in the films Pretty Baby, Blue Lagoon, Endless Love, and King of the Gypsies. And later on in films such as Black and White and The Weekend.

Shields will next be seen starring in the NBC Television series Lipstick Jungle, based on the best-selling book by author Candace Bushnell. The series, which also stars Kim Raver and Lindsay Price, is the story of three successful New York career women as they balance work, family and life in the big city. It will premiere on NBC in January 2008.
